As part of the cooperation between the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Region under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, modern water filtration systems have been installed in three secondary schools of the region.

The project aims to improve the quality of drinking water and create safe conditions for the health of students and teachers. Modern water purification units, each worth 5,000 USD, were donated free of charge to School No. 31 in Chimbay district, as well as to Schools No. 19 and No. 5 in Kegeyli district.

Thanks to the introduction of these systems, more than a thousand students and teachers now have access to clean and safe drinking water. This is an important step towards improving quality of life, protecting children’s health, and creating better conditions for their successful learning and development.

Representatives of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Region emphasized that this project marks the beginning of long-term cooperation with Chinese colleagues. The initiative focuses on the sustainable use of clean water, which is particularly important for improving educational conditions and preventing diseases associated with unsafe drinking water.

School administrations and parents expressed deep gratitude for the provided equipment and support. The implementation of the project has not only addressed one of the key social issues of the region but has also become a vivid example of successful international partnership.

Clean water is the foundation of health and development. This project is yet another significant step towards a sustainable future for Karakalpakstan.[wds id="294"]
