The International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Region (IICAS), in partnership with ICBA Agriculture, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), and IICAS, successfully held a two-day training course on integrated agriculture and aquaculture systems (IAAS) and spirulina cultivation technologies in Uzbekistan.
This entrepreneurship event brought together 45 participants representing academic, research, and technical institutions. The training program aimed to enhance the professional capabilities of specialists in agriculture, rational use of water and land resources, and the development of innovative biotechnologies.
During the course, participants learned about modern approaches to the development of agricultural production and aquaculture, the principles of closed ecosystems, and the practical aspects of cultivating spirulina as a promising source of biomass and protein. Particular attention was paid to adapting these technologies to the climatic and environmental conditions of the Aral Sea region.
The training combines theoretical modules, technical presentations, and practical exercises conducted by participants to consolidate their acquired knowledge and discuss potential applications in other projects and pilot initiatives.
This training aims to strengthen institutional and human resource capacity in sustainable agricultural production systems and aquaculture. The knowledge and practical skills gained will contribute to the implementation of resource-efficient solutions, ensuring food security and sustainability in the Aral Sea region.[wds id="304"]
