As part of the cooperation between the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea Region under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Jokarghi Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, water filtration systems were installed in three comprehensive schools in the region.
Modern water purification units, each costing 5,000 US dollars, were donated to schools No. 31 in the Chimbay district, as well as No. 19 and No. 5 in the Kegeyli district. These systems will allow more than a thousand students and teachers to have access to safe and clean drinking water, which is an important step towards improving the quality of life and health of children. Representatives of the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea region noted that this project is only the beginning of long-term cooperation with Chinese colleagues. The initiative is aimed at ensuring stable access to clean water, which is especially important for improving learning conditions and preventing diseases associated with poor quality water among children.
School management and parents expressed gratitude for the equipment and support provided. This is not only a solution to one of the key social problems of the region, but also a clear example of successful international cooperation. Clean water is the basis of health and development, and this project is becoming another important step towards a sustainable future for Karakalpakstan.
