On April 5, 2022, the meeting was held at the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a correspondent of the British weekly magazine The Economist (owned by the British media company The Economist Group) for Central Asia by Joanna Claire Lillis. The main purpose of the visit is to get more information about the activities of the center. The journalist was shown a presentation on the activities of the IICAS, told about ongoing projects with international organizations in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, then  a short tour was held to get a more detailed familiarization with experimental work process at Samanbay research and production field. During the conversation, Joanna Claire Lillis showed great interest in the work of the center and noted the positive results in landscaping on the dried bottom of the Aral Sea, and shared her intentions to involve the world community in the problem of the Aral Sea, and also thanked the staff for getting acquainted with the activities of the center and detailed answers about the ongoing experiments, as well as for a tour of the research and production fields. The staff of the center thanked Joanna Claire Lillis for the visit and expressed the hope that this meeting will serve to deepen the consecration of the consequences of the environmental crisis of the Aral Sea around the world.
