Yesterday, a workshop on growing microgreens was held, organized by the Research and Innovation Department of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin as part of the project “Indoor Microgreens Cultivation Using Hydroponics.”
The event was conducted in accordance with the department’s work plan and was aimed at promoting modern, environmentally friendly methods of urban agriculture and sustainable farming among the local population.
The workshop was led by Gulzarkhan Toreniyazova, Chief Specialist of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin and author of educational programs on microgreens. The participants included lecturers from the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute (NSPI) and students of the Karakalpak Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies.
During the workshop, participants learned about the stages of cultivating microgreens on a coconut substrate using the hydroponic method, and were introduced to lighting, watering, and plant care requirements. Special attention was given to the environmental and economic advantages of microgreens as a healthy and profitable product.
