“Footprints in the Sand”: an exhibition dedicated to the Aral Sea opened in Samarkand

On April 28, the “Footprints in the Sand” exhibition dedicated to the Aral Sea opened at the “Art Residence” of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”. For information: on the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, in the second ten days of April, artists from Latvia, Georgia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, South Korea and the UK, as well as local artists of Karakalpakstan, visited Muynak and reflected in their paintings what they saw in the Aral Sea region. The exhibition features about 30 paintings by artists in different genres. Also in the courtyard of the Art Residence you can see a picture of a shark and the living world that once lived in the Aral Sea, painted by South Korean artist Kveon Chongchan. The exhibition will last until July.
