The purpose of this scientific and practical expedition is to study the state, collect water samples at different points and calculate water flow at PK0 of the Akchadarya main collector and monitor the state of lake systems and wetlands formed from water using innovative methods, such as determining GPS coordinates in combination with space observation data. Also, specialists studied the possibilities of using collector waters to increase the natural productivity of biological resources, to mitigate the environmental situation in the Aral Sea region. For information: Between 2004 and 2013, a project called “South Karakalpakstan Drainage Project” was implemented.
