On 29 September presentation of Survey conducted by ADB International media and communication expert Beruniy Alimov was presented for representatives of 13 think tanks at the premises of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. The event was opened with opening remarks by ADB Director in Uzbekistan Kanokpan Lao-Araya and IMRS Director Umid Abidkhodjaev. The Survey “From Research to Policy Action: Assessment of Knowledge and Research Communication Culture in Uzbekistan” aimed at assessing the communication gap between think tanks and media, as well as needs of research institutions to effectively promote policy advise to decision makers and other key audiences, such as general public and media. Representatives of the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea basin also took part in the seminar. Round Table revealed the need for continuation of the capacity building initiatives in the area of research communications.
