It is known that Israel is on the list of countries experiencing lack of water resources. The country is constantly on the lookout for new and effective methods of water conservation while trying to combine them with previously proven technologies. This integrated approach to water management has enabled Israel to become the world’s leading water recycling country. In order to discuss the transfer and application of innovative technologies to combat the arid and saline lands of the Aral Sea region, as well as in the field of water conservation, a meeting was organized between the Director of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Bakhitjan Khabibullaev and the Ambassador of the State of Israel in Uzbekistan – Zehavit Ben Hillel. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on the implementation of a project to provide residents of Muynak region with high-quality drinking water, the creation of water treatment facilities (⁓5000 m3 / day), equipped with modern laboratory instruments, which can serve as a demonstration for other regions. Confirmation of close cooperation between countries in the field of ecology is another initiative to increase water resources for irrigation through the recycling of wastewater in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Following the meeting, Zehavit Ben Hillel expressed her readiness to implement the proposed projects and spoke about the programs that the Embassy of Israel in Uzbekistan and MASHAV conduct annually, inviting representatives of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin to take part in this program.
