The British tourism publication “Bradt Guides” has published a list of the most unique tourist regions in the world recommended for travel in 2023. Fortunately, the Republic of Karakalpakstan was also included in this list of unique places that attract tourists from Chile, Costa Rica, Israel, Estonia and other countries. It is worth noting that the experts of “Bradt Guides” note that thanks to the opening of a new airport in the Muynak region and the subsequent launch of high-speed trains, it has become more convenient to get to Karakalpakstan, the largest electronic music festival in Central Asia, the world-famous avant-garde collection of the Louvre in the Sahara desert, while At the same time, the darkest zone of the night sky stands out and the complex located under it is underlined. In addition, the article separately defines Karakalpakstan as the “homeland of the Aral Sea”. For information, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 30, 2022 “On additional measures to diversify domestic tourism services”, the task was set to develop, publish and distribute free of charge tourist maps (guides), fully demonstrating the tourist potential of the territory. In this regard, together with the Jokarga Kenesh and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Bradt Travel Guides publishing house is implementing a project to develop a tourist guide for Karakalpakstan. It is worth noting that within the framework of the project, in 2022, a press tour was organized for a number of tourist sites in Karakalpakstan for the Ambassador of Uzbekistan for Tourism in the UK Sophie Ibbotson and media representative Stephanie Adams.

In January-December 2022, 5.2 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes.
