The International Innovation Center for Aral Sea basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has developed an innovative applied project “Creation of drought-, heat- and salt-resistant, protein-rich varieties of spring wheat using marker breeding technology for the system of halophyte farming in the Aral Sea region”. The project became the winner of the joint Uzbek-Japanese competition of research projects SATREPS-2020 and was funded by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
