On December 10, 2021, at the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held a meeting, with representatives of the delegation from the GGGI and KOICA companies.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening the green rehabilitation of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to overcome the consequences of the environmental crisis of the Aral Sea.

The purpose of the visit is to promote green rehabilitation in the Republic of Karakalpakstan to address the consequences of the environmental crisis of the Aral Sea and develop effective measures to provide disaster-resistant livelihoods for communities living in areas most affected by natural disasters.

The project will contribute to disaster risk reduction, food security, improved livelihoods, and job creation through an integrated approach by integrating the dissemination of best practices in climate-responsive agriculture, increasing yields by supporting an enabling environment for sustainable development to climate change in farming.

The project provides for the elimination of the negative consequences of the Aral Sea for the restoration of the environment of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in the period from 2021 to 2024 (36 months).

During the meeting, the participants of this event received answers to all their questions and the parties reached an agreement on joint work on the implementation of projects.
