On June 11, 2021, at the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with representatives of the delegation, headed by Shalabekova Aliya Lazarevna – Deputy Minister of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the representatives of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic Kazakhstan, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Kyzylorda Region, the Republican Forest Seed Breeding Center of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. The main purpose of the meeting is to get acquainted with the International Innovation Center (IICAS), and exchange experiences in mitigating the consequences of an environmental disaster in the Aral Sea region. The participants of the event received information about the implemented and ongoing projects of the center and the work done at the experimental site “Samanbay”. During the meeting, the parties agreed on signing memorandums of understanding and establishing cooperation in jointly overcoming the Aral Sea crisis.[metaslider id=3159]
