In the spring of this year, a nursery for seedlings of drought-tolerant desert varieties and a other of agricultural crops were organized on the territory of the scientific and experimental plot “Muynak” of IICAS. In order to expand the area of ​​nurseries, these days at the scientific and experimental plot “Muynak” of IICAS, agricultural measures are being taken to prepare land for the autumn sowing of seeds of medicinal and salt-drought-resistant desert varieties.

The quality of planting material is assessed during the annual inventory of forest plantations. It is carried out after the end of the growing season, but before the beginning of the autumn digging of seedlings and seedlings, depending on the forest growing zone in which the forest nursery is located. Inventory establishes: the availability of planting material in the reporting year by varieties, age and quality, suitability for planting, i.e. meeting the requirements of current standards and left to grow; the presence of selective planting material; the actual yield of standard planting material from 1 ha, etc.

For this purpose, field staff is currently conducting an inventory of forest planting seedlings. In addition, work is underway on the collection of seeds of melons and cereals sown with research purposes.
